As a hotel that brings people, communities, and the environment together, Nikko Style Nagoya strives to eliminate the use of plastic to lessen our environmental footprint.
Please join us in our efforts towards a more sustainable future.
Since our opening, we have used sustainable, plant-based materials in our amenities.
-Toothbrush: 35% rice, Biomass Mark Certified
-Hairbrush: 20% rice, Biomass Mark Certified
-Wash Cloth: 100% cotton
As of April 1st, 2022, in accordance with the Bill for the Act on Promotion of Resource Circulation for Plastics, we have begun to provide shower caps and razors only upon request.
Please call our Front Desk (Dial 99) if you would like those items.
As for the use of our five-item amenities set, our goal was to decrease consumption by 20% per guest, and we surpassed it by decreasing the use per guest by 28%.
We continue to make efforts to decrease it further in 2023.
Here at Nikko Style Nagoya, we take steps towards conserving the environment by implementing sustainable cleaning practices.
-We do: replacing Towels, Trash Collection, and Restocking Bottled Water, Drip Coffee Packs, and Tea
-We don’t: Cleaning rooms and bathrooms, nor replacing bed sheets
If you would like to have your place cleaned, as well as have your towels and bedding replaced, you can place the request (basically, all house-keeping shall be done in designated hours)
As of July 31st, 2023, Nikko Style Nagoya is the first hotel institution in the area ranging from the Tokai area to the Hokuriku region to be certified the Sakura Quality An ESG Practice that align with SDGs.
At “style kitchen,” we are taking part in the “mottECO” project as an initiative to reduce food loss.
We will provide special food boxes for our guests to take home any meals they are unable to finish at the restaurant.
Please ask our staff if you would like a box. (¥50/box, consumption tax included)
*These boxes were designed for taking home any meals you couldn’t finish and are made from environmentally certified paper. Please manage your leftovers at your own risk and finish them within a responsible timeframe.
Our hotel actively participates in initiatives for a better future, such as “EARTH HOUR” in March, one of the world’s largest environmental projects to show our commitment to preventing global warming and preserving biodiversity, and “International Day of Peace (Peace Day)” in September.
Instead of incinerating any leftover food or vegetable scraps from the restaurant, we recycle them.
All collected food waste is recycled at a facility in Nagoya City, where it is then transformed into an organic fertilizer called “Organic Frendo.” This fertilizer is used by farmers throughout Japan to produce new food ingredients.
Our hotel participates in the “Fry to Fly Project,” where used cooking oil from our restaurant is collected to make SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel). SAF is said to reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 80% compared to conventional aviation fuels.
In our efforts to achieve a sustainable society, we will work with many customers and companies to promote initiatives aimed at reducing CO2 emissions.
