This is a column where people who are both self-confessed “travel lovers” and “experienced travelers” introduce their “top picks” that they discovered when they stayed at NIKKO STYLE NAGOYA.
<The new luxury of ‘going to a hotel to drink coffee’>
In the past, hotel coffee was sometimes rated lowly, with people saying things like “Why is convenience store coffee better than high-class hotel coffee?” However, did you know that recently, hotels have started to create opportunities for guests to meet the local community and enjoy simple, delicious coffee?
These days, more and more hotels are focusing on coffee, with some offering drip coffee made in collaboration with local coffee shops in the guest rooms, and others even having their own popular cafes.
As a lover of hotels, coffee is one of the things I enjoy about them. Unfortunately, however, I can only remember a few of the coffees I’ve had.
One of these was Nikko Style Nagoya’s original blend of coffee roasted by TRUNK COFFEE, which I liked so much that I chose it as a small gift for a wedding.
I think that the first impression of coffee is its aroma. The original blend of coffee has a gorgeous aroma that spreads from the moment you pour hot water into the drip.
When I think of coffee, I imagine enjoying the bitterness and roasted aroma, but this coffee is lightly roasted like wine and has a fruity, light taste. That’s why it’s delicious even when it’s cold.
It’s a cup of coffee that makes you feel light and airy, like when you start the day with a pleasant greeting on a sunny morning.
Why is the coffee at Nikko Style Nagoya so delicious that it lingers in your memory?
The reason is that they use rare specialty coffee beans, which only make up 5% of the world’s coffee beans. Furthermore, they persuaded TRUNK COFFEE, which is famous for not making blends, to make a blend that is easy to drink for guests from all over the world. Even amateurs can tell the difference in the taste, which is why it is so delicious.
TRUNK COFFEE is famous in Nagoya, where cafe culture is strong, as a place where you can enjoy world-class coffee.
Why not try a cup of this special coffee at Nikko Style Nagoya?
You’ll want to visit the hotel just to drink the coffee – that’s the kind of experience you can have here.

Hotel Influencer
She stays at around 30 hotels a year, mainly lifestyle hotels in Japan. In 2019, she casually posted on Twitter (at the time) about a “movie theater you can stay at,” which was retweeted 30,000 times, and this led her to become hooked on communicating the “attractions of hotels” on social networking services. She is currently updating her note magazine irregularly, writing about the “thoughts of the hotel creators” that she felt when she actually stayed at the hotel, from the perspective of a guest, just as she would recommend it to her friends. She contributed to the May issue of “Tabi no Techo” magazine.
In her main job, she worked at a social networking service marketing company, and now she provides operational support for the social networking, advertising, and influencer strategies of multiple hotels. She makes her living by delivering the appeal of hotels.
