This is a column where people who are both self-confessed “travel lovers” and “experienced travelers” introduce their “top picks” that they discovered when they stayed at NIKKO STYLE NAGOYA.

Over the past few years, ever since I got my hands on the “Classic Hotel Passport,” I’ve been touring classic hotels all over Japan. Since I always order an omelet for breakfast at every hotel, I’ve come to realize that I’ve naturally become quite a discerning judge of omelets.
When I stayed at Nikko Style Nagoya, I spotted an omelet on the breakfast menu and ordered it without hesitation.
To cut to the chase, it was a dish of such exceptional quality that it far exceeded my expectations and was in no way inferior to any omelet I’ve had at other classic hotels I’ve visited.
When savoring an omelet, there are a few points I personally pay close attention to.
First, the surface should be smooth with an even browning. An ideal omelet has a soft, rounded shape and is fluffy with a slight rise. It’s also important that the edges are beautifully formed and that no excess egg mixture has seeped out.
The aroma of the eggs wafts up the moment you cut into them. The interior has a smooth, layered texture that is soft and delicate.
It retains a slight creaminess without ever feeling heavy.
The cooking was precise, the technique truly refined—it was an omelet of such high quality that it felt like a work of art.
If you stay here, I highly recommend having breakfast and choosing the omelet.
At first glance, it may seem like a simple dish, but it has great depth and truly reflects the chef’s meticulous craftsmanship.
Another aspect of breakfast that I pay close attention to is the selection of juices offered.
Precisely because it’s a staple, whether they choose something special or a local brand reveals just how much the hotel values its breakfast.
At Nikko Style Nagoya, I was able to enjoy a delicious omelet alongside carefully selected juices. It was a truly satisfying and blissful breakfast experience.

Breakfast at Nikko Style Nagoya combines a “Choose Your Main Dish” option with a “Light Buffet.” You can enjoy the fun of choosing, the deliciousness of freshly prepared food, and the luxury of eating as much as you like of whatever you prefer.
There are four types of Main Plates to choose from: three Western-style options and one Japanese-style option. The Western-style dishes, including the omelet, all feature fresh eggs. (Incidentally, the Japanese-style option features dashimaki tamago from “Udaijin,” a shop located within Yanagibashi Central Market, the heart of Nagoya’s culinary scene.)
Once you’re seated, we’ll ask for your selection before preparing these egg dishes.
We deliberately prepare the omelets plain so you can fully savor the natural flavor of the eggs and the blissful texture—fluffy on the outside and creamy on the inside.
Breakfast while traveling is truly a priceless experience.
From the juice to the coffee, and everything in between, we’ve packed our breakfast with our signature “flavors you can only find here” to fully recharge your energy for the day.
We’ll send you off with a cheerful “Have a great day!”
