To become a brand to make the world notice traditional Japanese artwork.
To pass the tradition we have received ourselves, to the future.
Shibori isa unique way of dying fabric, leaving white spaces to create a mesmerizing pattern. This art has been passed down from generation to generation for over 400 years in the Arimatsu-Naruumi area of Nagoya City.
suzusan is a modern twist on this traditional art.
Hiroyuki Murase, born as the 5th heir to suzusan, an Arimatsu Shibori business, was an aspiring artist who traveled to Europe, where he was inspired. With his
roommate, Murase started a business in Germany, creating products using Arimatsu Shibori to create more than just the traditional yukata wear worn in Japan, but objects that can be used in every day life in Europe.
Origami began because of baristas. And that’s why it’s delicious; that’s why it’s beautiful.
Listening to baristas, whose passion is the best cup of coffee, we created a mug that holds the most beautiful latte art; a mug that delivers the best tasting cup of coffee. We are confident that coffee lovers will approve and agree with us.
The Tono area of Gifu prefecture, where Origami is made, is abundant with nature, and has high quality clay. Skilled potters flock to this area. The pottery made here is known as Mino ware, and it makes up about 60% of Japanese pottery.
Origami was born in this area, boasting more than 400 years of history, providing the perfect cup to all coffee lovers, both in Japan and in the world.

“Poursteady makes pour-over coffee better.”
When the founders of Steady Equipment were working in robotics with NASA in California, they visited Blue Bottle Coffee, a very popular cafe, and noticed the lines were getting longer and longer even though the barista worked on three drip coffees at a time. The NASA engineer and roboticist wondered if there were a better way to brew coffee. In 2013, they built their first prototype and entered the New York Maker Faire and distributed more than 800 cups of coffee. Later they were featured on a website that reviews new products, and they won an award for their ingenuity. This led to the birth of Poursteady as an official product.
